Friendly Neighbors
is a community
social club of "senior citizens" who enjoy life. Must be 55 or
older.
Meetings are held
every other Tuesday throughout the year from 11:30 AM
until 2:30 PM in the Church Hall.
Activities include
group prayer, bingo at every meeting, indoor picnic,
occasional luncheons, tour trips and a Christmas party.
Little Red Tot Spot
is
a playgroup (no charge) for parishioners and their children
(newborn to 3 years).
The group gathers every Wednesday from 9:30--10:30 AM in the Church Hall. It is a nice way to meet other families in our Parish. St. Edward's Parent Organization
(SEPO)
engages
in social and fundraising activities that encourage service,
communication, and education
for the enrichment
of our children.
All
parents with children enrolled in our School are automatically
members and are encouraged
to attend the meetings.SEPO sponsors the Halloween Fun Fair, Staff Appreciation Breakfast and Grandparents' Day. ******
YOUTH PROGRAM
is an all volunteer
effort to
serve the after school interests of St. Edward students, especially in
the parish school and also the
Religious Education program.
Varsity team sports are offered to students in grades 4 to 8.
In
addition intramural T-Ball, basketball and softball programs are
available for all students.
The generous
support of St. Edward parishioners make these programs possible.
Major activities: Varsity
and intramural sports; Football Homecoming Party and the Keane Scholarship
Drive, Super Bowl Party fundraiser, Thillens Day and much
more. SCOUTING
Boy Scout Troop 904
is for boys ages 11-17. Meetings are held in the Church Hall on
Thursdays at 8:00 PM from September thru July.
The meeting purpose is rank advancement and preparation for outdoor activities (4 overnight camping trips and summer camp held the last 2 weeks in July at Owasippe Scout Reservation.
The boys earn their way and get work experience by
hosting their annual Pancake Breakfast held on Palm Sunday and Pasta
Dinner held on the Saturday before Thanksgiving.
Cub Scout Pack 3904
is for boys in Grades 2 through 5. Meetings are held each week with their Den leaders and the Dens meet once a month at Pack Night. Some major activities are the Blue and Gold Dinner in February, Basketball Tournament, Hotrod races, Pinewood Derby, Cub Scout Olympics,Recycling drive, and various service projects. Venturers 2904
is for young men and women ages 14-20. Meetings are held Thursday nights in combination with BSA Troop 904. Venturers assist the adult leaders in leading,educating, and monitoring the Boy Scouts. The main outing is a 10 day trip to Quetico Provincial Park in Ontario, Canada, where they apply their outdoor skills and learn the history of the Indians and Voyagers of Canada. Girl Scouts range from a Daisy Troop beginning in Kindergarten where they move up to a Brownie Troop from Grades 1 to 3, then to a Junior Troop from Grades 4 to 6. Troop meetings are scheduled by each troop leader and are usually held 2 to 4 times per month. Girls complete activities in a variety of areas to earn badges, develop skills, learn about camping, different crafts, sponsor food collections and clothing drives. |
